Managing Workspace Members in WPShift
Workspaces in WPShift allow you to organize and manage your servers, sites, and domains in a collaborative environment. You can invite team members, assign roles, and define permissions to control who has access to what within your workspace.
What are Workspace Members?
Workspace members are individuals you invite to collaborate with you in managing the servers, sites, and domains associated with your WPShift workspace. Each member is assigned a specific role that dictates their permissions and what actions they can perform within the workspace.
Key Points
- Members: Individuals invited to the workspace with assigned access based on their role.
- Collaboration: Allows team members to contribute to the management and operation of servers, sites, and domains.
- Permissions: Members are granted varying degrees of access based on their role.
Benefits of Adding Members:
- Shared Management: Distribute server and site responsibilities across your team.
- Controlled Access: Ensure that each member has appropriate access levels.
- Increased Efficiency: Allow team members to manage specific areas, reducing bottlenecks.

Roles & Permissions
WPShift uses role-based access control to manage permissions for workspace members. Each role defines the specific actions that members can perform, from viewing to full administrative control. Below are the common roles available:
Available Roles:
-
Owner:
Full control over the workspace, including managing billing, servers, sites, domains, and members. This role is typically reserved for the creator of the workspace. -
Administrator:
Can manage servers, sites, and domains, but cannot modify billing settings or remove the owner. Ideal for team leads who need broad control over workspace resources. -
Developer:
Has access to servers and sites, but cannot modify workspace settings or manage members. Suitable for team members responsible for development tasks. -
Viewer:
Can view servers, sites, and settings but cannot make any modifications. This role is useful for stakeholders who need insight into the project but don’t require control over the workspace.
How to Modify a Member’s Role:

Managing Member Permissions
Permissions within WPShift are tied to the roles described above. Here’s a quick overview of the actions allowed by each role:
