Plugins
The Plugins page in WPShift allows you to view, manage, and update WordPress plugins for each site in your workspace. This section is essential for keeping your WordPress plugins up to date and ensuring that they are active and running the latest versions for security and performance.
1. Viewing plugin information
The Plugins section displays a list of all installed plugins on the selected site, along with key information for each:
- Name: The name of the plugin.
- Status: Indicates whether the plugin is active or inactive.
- Version: Shows the current installed version of the plugin.
- Update version: Indicates if an update is available. If the icon displays a red "X," the plugin needs updating.
- Auto update: Displays if the plugin is set to update automatically.
2. Updating plugins
Keeping plugins updated is crucial for security and functionality. WPShift makes it easy to update plugins individually or all at once:
- Update all: Click this button to update all plugins with available updates.
- Individual updates: To update a specific plugin, locate the plugin in the list and click the update icon in the Update version column.
3. Enabling or disabling auto-updates
For each plugin, you can control whether it updates automatically:
- In the Auto update column, check if the automatic update feature is enabled. A red "X" means auto-updates are disabled.
- To change this setting, click the icon and enable or disable auto-updates as desired.
Automatic updates help ensure that your plugins stay current without manual intervention, reducing the risk of security vulnerabilities.
