Workspaces Overview

Workspaces in WPShift serve as the central hub for managing all your servers, sites, and domains in one organized environment. By grouping these elements together, Workspaces streamline your workflow, making it easier to manage multiple projects and collaborate with team members.

With Workspaces, you can:

  • Invite Team Members: Share your workspace with colleagues by inviting them and setting role-based permissions.
  • Configure Cloud Providers: Manage API keys for cloud providers (such as DigitalOcean) to handle server provisioning.
  • Set Up Source Providers: Integrate GitLab or GitHub by adding API keys to enable smooth deployment from your repositories.
  • Manage Notifications: Control how and where you receive notifications, whether via email, Discord, Slack, or other channels.
  • Adjust General Settings: Set up general preferences for your workspace, such as naming conventions and ownership details.

Key Workspace Features

1. Invite Members and Set Permissions

Workspaces allow you to add team members, enabling collaboration. You can assign different roles and permissions, controlling access to specific features and settings.

2. Providers

Providers are crucial for connecting your workspace to external services. You can configure the following:

  • Cloud Providers: Manage API keys for services like DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode and more to handle server management.
  • Source Providers: Link your workspace to code hosting platforms like GitHub or GitLab by configuring their respective API keys.

3. Notification Channels

Customize your notification preferences for each workspace. You can choose which events to be notified about, and how you would like to receive those notifications (e.g., via email, Slack, etc.).

4. General Settings

This section includes basic configuration options such as workspace name, description, and ownership details. It also allows for the adjustment of default settings that apply across all sites and servers within the workspace.
