Site settings

The Site settings page in WPShift lets you configure essential information and manage key aspects of each site in your workspace. Here, you can adjust the site’s general details, access FTP information, and apply tags for easier organization. Follow the steps below to understand and manage your site settings.

1. General information

In the General information section, you can define basic settings for your site:

  • Site name: The display name for your site within WPShift. This is typically for internal reference.
  • Site domain: The primary domain assigned to your site. Ensure this is correctly set up to point to your WPShift server if using an external domain.
  • Site notes: A field for adding any notes related to the site, useful for tracking custom configurations or specific project details.

After updating any of these fields, click Save changes to apply your settings.

2. FTP details

The FTP details section provides the necessary information to connect to your site via SFTP. This is useful for uploading files directly or managing site content.

  • IP address: The IP address you’ll use to connect.
  • Port: The port number (typically 21) required for the connection.
  • SFTP username: The username for SFTP access.
  • SFTP password: The password associated with the SFTP username. Click Change ftp password if you need to update the password for security purposes.

You can use an FTP client, such as FileZilla, to connect with these details and manage your site’s files.

3. Tags

Tags allow you to categorize and organize your sites within WPShift. This feature is particularly useful for managing multiple sites, making it easier to filter and locate projects based on custom labels.

  • To add a tag, type it into the Tags field and press Enter.
  • To remove a tag, click the X next to the tag name.
