Themes
The Themes page in WPShift provides an interface for managing WordPress themes on each site. Here, you can view the status of each theme, update themes to the latest version, and enable or disable automatic updates. Proper theme management helps keep your WordPress site visually consistent, secure, and performant.
1. Viewing theme information
The Themes section displays a list of all themes installed on your site along with key details:
- Name: The name of the theme.
- Status: Indicates whether the theme is active or inactive. Only one theme can be active at a time.
- Version: The currently installed version of the theme.
- Update version: Shows if an update is available. A red "X" icon indicates that a newer version is available.
- Auto update: Displays if the theme is set to update automatically.
2. Updating themes
Keeping themes up to date is important for security and compatibility. WPShift allows you to update themes individually or all at once:
- Update all: Click this button to update all themes with available updates.
- Individual updates: To update a specific theme, locate it in the list and click the update icon in the Update version column.
3. Enabling or disabling auto-updates
You can enable or disable automatic updates for each theme individually:
- In the Auto update column, check if auto-update is enabled. A red "X" means it’s currently disabled.
- Click the icon to toggle auto-update for the theme on or off, depending on your preference.
Enabling auto-updates helps ensure your themes remain up to date without manual intervention, reducing the risk of security vulnerabilities.
